The Dinner of the Year is just around the corner: at this exciting gastronomic event in neighboring Slovakia, a top Hungarian chef will take center stage – alongside other Gault&Millau award winners, Kornél Kaszás will host an exclusive dinner in Bratislava.
At the Bratislava Dinner of the Year, three Gault&Millau-awarded chefs from Central Europe will present a six-course tasting menu. Outstanding talents from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary come together to showcase their creativity in a single menu – their collaboration acts as a cultural dialogue, with contemporary haute cuisine as the common language.
On November 9, 2025, the event will be held in a private room at the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in Bratislava. For this one-time occasion, the award-winning chefs of the three neighboring countries will lead the evening. A total of 60 guests can attend, and the exclusive tasting menu can be paired with either wine or alcohol-free beverages.
Three nations, three chefs, one tasting menu
The evening is hosted by Gault&Millau Slovakia, and the venue is the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel, one of Bratislava’s most prestigious hotels. Its elegant setting provides the perfect backdrop for a gastronomic experience, with the historic city center and the Danube nearby creating a unique atmosphere.
The menu has been crafted by three outstanding chefs:

-
Daniel Tilinger, chef of ECK Restaurant in Slovakia, who has received Slovakia’s highest culinary honors: 18 Gault&Millau points and four chef’s hats. Tilinger presents traditional Slovak ingredients in a modern, visually striking, and playful way, reinterpreting the national cuisine.

-
Jan Knedla, chef of Papilio Restaurant in the Czech Republic, who built an international career spanning Scotland to Hong Kong, including experience under Joël Robuchon. His restaurant has earned 17 points and four chef’s hats. His philosophy emphasizes that the soul of a dish lies in respecting nature and using seasonal ingredients.

-
Kornél Kaszás, chef of Babel Budapest in Hungary, who has brought fresh energy to the restaurant in recent years. With his contemporary, Scandinavian-inspired cuisine, he was awarded 17 points and four chef’s hats by Gault&Millau in 2025, and personally received the “Chef of the Future” title.
Six-course dinner in Bratislava
During the dinner, Daniel Tilinger, Jan Knedla, and Kornél Kaszás will collaborate not as competitors, but as co-creators, presenting a progressive-style gourmet dinner.
The Dinner of the Year begins at 6 PM and concludes at 9 PM at the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel. The three-hour evening starts with a champagne reception, followed by the tasting menu, with each dish specially created for this occasion. Carefully selected wine or alcohol-free pairings accompany the courses, and guests will receive a small farewell gift at the end.
Seats for the event are limited. The first 20 guests can book at the Early Bird price of €290, after which tickets are €330. Hotel accommodation options are available for participants.
The Dinner of the Year promises a cultural and culinary journey featuring the best of Central European gastronomy. One evening where cuisine truly becomes an art.
