Kávésdoboz Coffee Bar & Deli

On a cobblestone street in downtown Eger, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm bread starts drifting from a corner building as early as 7 AM. The place is called Kávésdoboz, one of the city’s go-to breakfast spots, and also a hub for sourdough pastries, specialty coffee, and gourmet treats. They were among the first to bring specialty coffee culture to Eger, and they get their beans from the Coffee Líceum roastery. It is a cozy little spot, run by owners who clearly do not compromise on quality – they even have a rule that no more than four people can sit together at breakfast, just to make sure everyone gets top-notch service. Alongside egg dishes and hot sandwiches, their stuffed French toast is a real standout: gooey cheese, smoky pulled Angus beef from Hortobágy, and homemade BBQ sauce. All their baked goods come from the legendary Szabi, the baker, known for his sourdough magic. Oh, and do not miss the coffee desserts, coffee cocktails, and rich hot chocolates while you are there!
