When Babka Deli opened just a few blocks from the popular Babka restaurant, some wondered whether there was room for both. But the Deli quickly carved out its own niche on Újlipótváros’s buzzing gastro avenue. Open from morning to early evening, it hits all the right notes for a proper neighborhood deli. From sourdough French toast with cheese and sour cream to the luxurious duck breast & eggs breakfast plate; from fresh challah to spicy muhammara toast; from daily soups to vibrant, flavour-packed salads, the selection is downright impressive. The atmosphere is busy but warm, this is the kind of place you find yourself wanting to return to. The selection of smoothies, shakes, and cold-pressed juices is just as exciting as the food, and come Advent, their panettone (and babka year-round) makes it worth the trip even from across town. A refreshingly cosmopolitan gem.
