Dr Csernus (a well-known psychiatrist) has clearly found happiness in Heves. He left Budapest in 2009 and, since 2010, has co-owned the Almagyar Archbishop’s Vineyard. After the success of his Noszvaj restaurant Csendülő, he opened a wine and grill terrace on the vineyard in 2025, which also offers charming accommodation. This is joyful, unfussy cooking – natural flavours, a warm welcome. Dishes are prepared in an open kitchen: grilled ćevapi, fire-roasted potatoes, house-made ajvar, seasonal veg. It feels more like visiting friends than dining out, with fresh food, good wine and chilled lemonades on the table.
