Dagoba Bisztró

Right in the heart of Józsefváros, on the corner of Práter and Szigony Street, you will find one of the best little eateries in a neighborhood that is getting more exciting by the day. It is cozy and youthful, like popping over to a friend’s place for a weekday lunch. They are only open for lunch, Monday to Friday, and the food is exactly the kind of honest, home-style cooking that is sadly rare not just in Budapest, but across the country. Tasty, unfussy dishes with a little something extra, no shortcuts on ingredients. It just feels right to order something like meatballs with mashed potato, a classic bolognese, or a properly stuffed burrito. There is always a quiche at the counter and a rotating lineup of desserts: cakes, muffins, puddings, and creamy treats in a glass. Since 2018, they have been proving that there is real demand for friendly, down-to-earth hospitality and seriously good food.
