A bustling Italian spot at one of Buda’s key junctions, a stone’s throw from Széll Kálmán Square and Fény Street Market. As much a laid-back, music-filled, drinks-first gathering place as a restaurant—or, as they say, a "trattoria moderna." The kitchen delivers the flavours of a classic Italian trattoria, but less traditional, embracing the now-trendy small plates concept. Antipasti and the porchetta focaccia feel the best match for the setting, though the menu extends from pasta dishes to stuffed baby chicken and sage-infused beef sirloin. Service is friendly and fast-paced, while table settings are unfussy, in line with the venue’s style—though some dishes arrive on Zsolnay plates. The wine list is broad, featuring selections from Hungary, Italy, and beyond (New Zealand, France, and the U.S.), including seven sparkling options. The spirits list is equally varied even including a few unique brands. Giulia is no Italian mamma—this is dolce vita with a bold, free-spirited edge. There’s a hint of ruin pub charm in the décor, with warm-hued lanterns, sofas and holiday-inspired seating, striped parasols, and, from spring to autumn, a buzzing terrace. Less of a family trattoria, more of a youthful, bar-style hangout.
