Kuti-Kerti Kisvendéglő

A charming little restaurant in Vászoly that feels more like stepping into someone’s home for a family lunch. In the lush garden, you will find benches, flower pots, trinkets, and strings of lights overhead, while old tools decorate the walls of the house. The owner’s warm and welcoming presence sets the tone for the whole experience. The interior is delightfully eclectic, a mix of retro, vintage, and romantic elements that somehow feel perfectly curated. Even the cutlery arrives in a hand-sewn pouch. We stopped by for a simple lunch: the hearty meat soup came loaded with tender vegetables and soft, slow-cooked meat, just like at home. The beef was served in a traditional Hungarian vadas sauce – creamy, subtly sweet with carrots – and tasted both comforting and well-balanced. For dessert, the krémes (custard slice - millefeuille) was a bit rich and slightly soggy, but still satisfying, especially in the peaceful setting filled with birdsong and the friendly, attentive (but never pushy) hospitality of the host.
