Mimama Konyhája

The restaurant is tucked away in Újbuda’s industrial zone, near the Kelenföld tram depot, and it is definitely a surprise for visitors. When you step inside, you are greeted by a park area, with the terrace sitting right by a small pond. Mimama Konyhája is actually the restaurant of a hotel, and its unique vibe comes from the contrast between its suburban location and the cozy, personal atmosphere inside. The name "Mimama" is a tribute to a beloved grandmother and her home-cooked meals. Their pride is their own mangalitsa and cow farm, providing high-quality meat for fresh, traditional Hungarian dishes. We went for the bone-in mangalitsa, extra tripe made from mangalitsa, and homemade lecsó with farm-fresh eggs and mangalitsa sausage. Honestly, there is no better way to go here. In the dining area, there is a glass fridge displaying their impressive, in-house meat products. It would have been great to hear a bit more about these from the staff. This hidden spot is a great choice for a Sunday lunch or a small family gathering.
