Pántlika Bisztró - Egy Falat Csopak

Pántlika is a family restaurant – though not in the overused sense. A visit here truly feels like being welcomed into someone’s home: whitewashed walls encase the thatched farmhouse, the shady garden dotted with eclectic furniture, and you can even sprawl out on a sun lounger. The view opens onto neighbouring houses, like a holiday at a lakeside cottage. Indoors, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed, with natural materials and colours throughout, and a high, beamed ceiling that lends an airy, open feel. Pántlika is as much a pizzeria as it is a bistro – the pizza selection is broader than the compact bistro menu. Expect Caprese salad with burrata, bolognese pasta, gnocchi, tuna salad, alongside the comforting classics of breaded cheese and schnitzel. The Italian dishes are made with authentic ingredients, and the pizzas emerge beautifully blistered from the oven, with satisfyingly crisp crusts. Given the brevity of the menu, a stronger emphasis on seasonality would be welcome – in late April, for example, they were still serving pumpkin. Service is friendly and informal, and when there’s a hiccup, it’s handled with grace – not something to take for granted around Lake Balaton. A genuinely endearing spot in Csopak.
