Róka és Mackó Barátkozó

A laid-back little hideaway in Szarvas, set in the historic building of the Árpád Hotel. The name – Róka és Mackó (Fox & Bear) – already gives you a hint of the vibe. It was opened by two former athletes, a handball and a basketball player. They call it a “friend-making” kind of place, and it really does feel like home: cozy armchairs, bookshelves, a typewriter, and patterned wallpaper. The deli counter and wine shelves remind you it is also a proper eatery, one that is buzzing from early morning till late into the weekend nights, often with bottles popping in the background. They serve all kinds of goodness: fresh pastries, sourdough bread, homemade cakes, and quality products from local farmers and small producers. Think stacked sandwiches, hot melts, burgers, and hearty platters. The menu is more of a guide than a rulebook, they cook everything fresh from seasonal ingredients.
