A standout was the homemade hen broth, often mislabelled when made with standard chicken, but here they use richly flavoured old hen, yielding a golden, delightfully fatty soup—reminiscent of grandma’s kitchen but elevated to fine-dining levels with delicate ravioli, smoked quail egg, and crisp-tender vegetables. The house-made vanilla slice was another pleasant surprise: instead of the usual puff pastry, it featured rustic leaf-lard pastry and freeze-dried raspberries, neatly offsetting the richness of the pistachio cream. Rosinante is a charming, family- and dog-friendly haven to while away the hours.
