Wang Mester Mozium

Master Wang is probably the most well-known and respected figure of Chinese cuisine in Hungary. He is a chef and the owner of several restaurants, including one located in a modern building on Pasaréti Road, Buda. The interior is sleek and contemporary, avoiding the usual clichés of Chinese restaurants, yet it still clearly reflects its roots. This mix of tradition and modern style also shows up in the food: Mozium’s dishes are based on Shanghai and Sichuan cuisine but adapted to suit European tastes. You will find plenty of Wang’s signature dishes on the menu – like century eggs, Peking duck, Cantonese-style beef tongue, and unique pork offal specialties. As with traditional Chinese cuisine, meat takes center stage here, though there are a few exciting vegan and vegetarian options as well. The vegan taro with king oyster mushrooms and the dairy- and meat-free version of mapo tofu are both great examples of how plant-based dishes can shine too. What sets Wang’s kitchens apart is their ability to elevate even the most familiar dishes, like the classic hot and sour soup or tender fried chicken – they always manage to add a little extra magic.
