You could say, in style, that this rooftop terrace is the crowning jewel of Buda Castle. Perched atop the Hilton Hotel, the White Raven bar offers a front-row view of the colourful Zsolnay-tiled Gothic towers of Matthias Church, and the full panorama is truly fit for royalty. But it would be a shame to leave the White Raven experience just to the tourists. As a cocktail bar and a spot for light-yet-upscale dining, it really stands out. The bar food is not just an afterthought to go with drinks, they have got a seriously good kitchen. Do not hesitate to go for the salmon or the Angus rib-eye steak; the culinary technique is spot-on. The drink list is just as impressive, with nearly 30 types of bubbly alone, including vintage champagnes and magnum bottles. And while the place is undeniably elegant, it does not feel stiff. The warm, down-to-earth staff deserve special mention.
