94' konyha & bár

12 | 20

Opened in 2024, this gastropub promises Asian fusion cuisine. Step in from Falk Miksa Street – known for its art galleries – and you are instantly in the main dining space. It has got a real urban vibe: the raw concrete-style walls are softened with warm wooden furniture and thoughtfully placed lighting that makes the place feel cozy. The menu features a mix of Vietnamese and Japanese-inspired dishes – both classics and house creations. You will find tempura, spring and summer rolls, gyoza, pho, and katsu, plus several unique takes under the 94’ label. Key ingredients are listed, and there is a wide variety of flavours and combinations to choose from. True to many Asian kitchens, the selection is not strongly seasonal. Presentation is stylish and well thought out. It is not about adding extra decorative elements, but rather shaping and plating each dish with care – some plates look almost artistic. The food itself is refined and clean in flavour, yet expressive. The summer rolls, for instance, are filled with perfectly cooked duck, crisp salad greens, and just a hint of fruity brightness. The 94’ version of gohan (a Japanese rice dish) pairs seared tenderloin and veggies with a marinated ramen-style egg yolk – an unexpected but satisfying combo. Mochi here means ice cream: the halved balls come in different flavours, are not overly sweet, and make for a simple yet elegant dessert. Service is quick, friendly, and staff are happy to talk through the menu. The wine list includes a few premium Hungarian labels, all available by the glass. Drinks range from beers to cocktails and refreshing non-alcoholic options, many with an Asian twist. 94' Kitchen & Bar would fit right in any major city – definitely worth checking out.
