Búsuló Juhász Étterem

10.5 | 20

Búsuló Juhász is a true classic in the Buda side dining scene. Perched on top of Gellért Hill, this historic restaurant has been serving guests since way back in 1901. The building has fantastic features, and its huge windows offer a stunning panoramic view over the city. The interior has been renovated and updated to match today’s tastes, and when the weather is nice, the spacious terraces are a major draw. You can really feel the decades of experience in the atmosphere. The kitchen is led by chef Zoltán Danó, whose expertise and background shape the menu. Beyond the expected dishes and international favourites, there is a strong focus on seasonal Hungarian classics. In summer, for instance, you can get lecsó (ratatouille) prepared four different ways. It is a solid kitchen with reliable flavours and occasional standouts – like the memorable cottage cheese dumpling we tried, served with a lemony, tarragon-infused sour cream foam. We truly hope this place, with its old-school charm and rich history, stays open for many years to come
