Dűlő Étterem

Dűlő is a gem of the Avas wine cellar rows in Miskolc, an area that has lost some of its former vibrancy and now paints a more melancholic scene. Surpassing expectations during our visit, the restaurant impressed with high-quality ingredients, diverse techniques, creative textures, and a refined yet fresh approach to flavours. Among the standouts, the beautifully presented venison goulash - one of the best we’ve tasted in recent times - was particularly delightful. A few of the techniques used, though playful, were perhaps a touch excessive - such as the creamy vegetable sauce served as a foam in the hunter’s stew, which, rather than enhancing the experience, somewhat detracted from it. Nevertheless, Dűlő is captivating overall, with a thoughtful craftsmanship shining through in every dish. The chef himself appeared when serving the hunter’s stew, gently spooning jus over the beef from a small saucepan. Hungarian wines dominate the list, with a strong selection from Bükk, Eger, and Tokaj, alongside offerings from Villány and Szekszárd. The list features well-known winemakers, and it’s commendable that nearly all wines are available by the glass. In the summer, guests can bask in the beauty of the Avas area from the spacious terrace, shaded by sun sails and adjacent to the forest. As a family-friendly establishment, children can revel in the playground and lawn. Dűlő embodies the finest aspects of a bistro: playful yet professional.
