Solier is a well-loved pastry shop in Gödöllő, now accompanied by a restaurant with a truly one-of-a-kind concept. Calling it a "menu séance" is not an overstatement – there is no à la carte option here. Instead, guests are served a six-course “fusion dessert menu”, created entirely by pastry chef and owner Csaba Szoljár. Fusion here is not about mixing different international cuisines; it’s about combining savory ingredients with pastry techniques. The experience includes four full courses, plus an amuse-bouche with petits fours chocolates, and an intermezzo sorbet. Presentation is key – each plate looks like a still-life painting, decorated with natural elements that add an almost spiritual dimension to the dishes. Visually, everything resembles a dessert, even when it’s not. Pureed meats, for instance, are hidden beneath a glossy, pastry-like glaze. While similar techniques are sometimes used in fine dining, strictly adhering to pastry methods can become a limitation, as not being optimal in case of all ingredients. For drinks, you can choose between a wine pairing featuring selections from renowned Hungarian wineries or a fresh juice pairing made from hand-pressed fruits. Reservations are required, with fixed time slots available, usually on weekends. We truly believe this bold new concept will add something special to Gödöllő’s culinary scene, and hopefully, Solier will become a must-visit destination!
