There are few more authentic underground food ventures than this. It all started when three architect friends began hosting taco pop-ups in the garden of their office. Word spread quickly in gastro circles, and eventually they set up a taco base in a small, almost warehouse-like space in the Unger house on Múzeum boulevard. What makes this place truly special is that they make every single element of their tacos themselves. Yes, even the tortillas. Forget the usual colourful Frida Kahlo-and-skull-themed Mexican clichés, their style is minimalist, hipster, and contemporary, while the flavours are anything but subtle. The pork shoulder taco is the juiciest, and they do excellent vegetarian and vegan versions too. Even the salted caramel taco is divine. The menu is a slightly chaotic, handwritten board next to the drink crates. It is a place that knows exactly what it is, and here, the taco is the undisputed star.
